ESP is the oldest network organisation in the world focussing on ICT-based innovation of education

In 1987 the European Schools Project was born.

Every year conferences have been organised for and by teachers, educators and researchers. These are working conferences in which interaction and collaboration are central. The main goal is for participants to return to their schools and start international computer supported collaborative learning projects (CSCL-projects).

Over the years thousands of teachers and students have successfully worked together on collaborative projects in many languages.

The overarching aim of ESP has been, still is, and will be: the ICT-based innovation of our indispensable social systems: SCHOOLS.

Crossing Borders to meet Global Educational Challenges through Innovative ICT

Living in an increasingly globalized world, the growth of social networking websites requires careful monitoring. As recent surveys show the awareness of cybersafety is essential for both teachers and their students. We, therefore have the responsibility to meet these new challenges in education which we are facing in the 21 st century.

The focus of this conference will include

•  issues surrounding the development of social networking using different mobile devices

•  Web 2.0 applications (e.g. blogs, forums, wikis, video conferencing and podcasting)

•  Creating educational links with other schools

•  Setting up international, collaborative projects

A Working and Training Conference for and by Educators
